Workshop: Multiple Intelligence

Mentors and Mentees attended another workshop today – topic focused on addressing multiple intelligence/different smarts of students/teachers. We observed an actual class scenario: teacher(Ms. Dorothy) teaching students of different grade levels (1st-6th). I liked the way she integrated all subject areas in everything she’s teaching (social studies, math, PE, language). I find the “continent song” that they sing really helpful for the students to memorize the coninents. I also liked the activity where the students form a circle and play catch using the plastic globe. Then they counted the students’ whose thumb landed in the water versus the land. That discussion led to Math (fractions) then they compared and contrast the Map and the Globe using the Vehn Diagram.
